If you have gone to the bother of investing in good camera equipment to capture the unmissable moment, you do not want to skimp on a reliable anchor. And this is a very reliable, and easily portable, one such anchor.

Choosing a tripod is all about compromise, particularly between weight and rigitity. This tripod will support a semi pro or pro spec DSLR plus telephoto lens in most outdoor conditions. It is precision engineered and provides all the adjustments needed by even the most avid of macro photographers. The carbon fibre legs reduce the weight substantially without compromising rigity. What is amazing is the price, if it cost twice as much it would still represent a bargain.

I chose this tripod from the Giottos range because, whilst it isn’t the lightest, it is sturdy and is tall enough for a six foot odd person. Tripods with four section legs may be more compact but they are not as sturdy, an important consideration if you have a heavy camera.
The Giottos is by far the most versatile tripod I have owned. I can’t imagine any situation where this tripod would not work. Giottos have thought of everything including a tool kit to tighten up the joints should they ever work loose.
