Sony DSCH70B Cyber Shot Digital Camera,
A fantastic camera with many features. Purchased for my wife. Takes excellent photo’s. The only gripe is not having view finder, as when you are outside it is very difficult to see image on LCD screen, especially in bright sunshine. Next time we would look for camera with view finder, however then i expect it would not be so compact. Overall it is one of the best in it’s class.

|All the camera you need,
I am in love with this camera. It does everything so well. For instance with a 10X zoom you would expect it to be unusable except with a tripod. But with the anti-shake software, shots have startling sharpness. In “easy” mode it will determine you are shooting faces which are back lit and turn on the flash. And if automatic is to blasé for you you can have fully manual on aperture or exposure. Big screen, easy controls, many modes, auto everything, easy for idiots and flexible for button twiddlers. And cheaper than the rest. Downside? A little on the fat side compared with the Panasonic. I found a beautiful leather carry case for my belt on Amazon France.

|So far…so good!,
I bought this as my old camera struggled to take photos in the dark and half-light and also I wanted a better zoom. My old camera was a Sony Cybershot, 6 megepixel, 3 x zoom. So far, I’ve managed to take all the night/evening photos that I’ve wanted, and having used it recently at an air show, the 10 x zoom is much better. The panoramic photos are a fun addition, although I’ve only used it for groups of people rather than landscapes which I think would be better as people tend to move too much! High definition video has impressed – especially when I played them back on my Sony TV. Pretty simple to use (I tend to leave it on automatic mostly) as it’s similar to my old camera. Only minor point so far is occassionally it’s a little bit blurry on full zoom – though that could be more to do with my lack of skill. It was slightly more expensive than I originally wanted to pay but glad I paid that little bit extra now. So far…so chuffed.
